Leading Edge Golf Weekly Roundup – 11/12

(Click here for the full, media-rich version of this newsletter on leadingedgegolf.ca)

We hope you are enjoying the unseasonably warm temperatures. Rumour has it that a few courses are still open on temporary greens for a few more days.  As for us, while we still have fittings and lessons going on, we are using the offseason to prepare for next year as we develop our product knowledge, fine tune our fitting skills, and work to improve the customer experience for 2026!

We are starting to see some new product start to drip out on Tour and the USGA conforming list that will be in our fitting carts soon.  We just received two Limited Edition Scotty Cameron Studio Xperimental putters and they are beautiful.  Additionally, we also just received a shipment of LAB OZ1i Heel Shafted putters which are available for purchase at our shop.  Our simulators are filling up for indoor practice and virtual golf play and we’d love to have you here for your next session.  They are available for booking during business hours which now includes Monday and Wednesday evenings until 9pm.  Come practice at the best indoor facility in the city!

Fitting Stories

Some fittings are about the little things but this customer needed a pretty good overhaul and he got it with this set of Mizuno Pro S-3’s. He is quite tall at 6’8″ and his previous set was 2″ over length, which made sense. The problem was that in addition to shafts that were too light and soft they weren’t upright at all which caused him to set up uncomfortably and led to ball flight issues. Dylan fit him into KBS Tour X shafts at 1.5″ over length but 2 degrees upright which when put together had the ball flying and the S-3 heads gave him the feel he was looking for.

We really enjoyed this history of the PING Colour Code Chart.  You may not know it but this chart is part of essentially every fitting we do.  It’s a long read so we will leave it at one link this week.

Thanks for reading, see you next week!
