Leading Edge Golf Weekly Roundup – 8/22

(Click here for the full, media-rich version of this newsletter on leadingedgegolf.ca)

We’re a bit late with this week’s newsletter as it’s been a busy week here at the shop, which is a good thing!

Today’s letter starts with a fun story.  Last Monday, a tall, left handed, Australian golfer came into our shop to check out our putter selection.  He quietly tried a few models and eventually settled on a PING Anser 2D after which he left the store and got into his Rogers Charity Classic courtesy car.  A few days later, Richard Green used that same putter to tap in for birdie on 18 at Canyon Meadows for his first victory on the PGA Tour Champions.  What a cool moment for Richard and for us at Leading Edge!

Some of you may have noticed that we now have online booking available through our website and Instagram account.  You are able to book fittings, lessons, Force Plate Sessions, and simulator time.  Click the link below to book now!

We hope you are enjoying the return of summer weather and that you are playing as much golf as you can.  We continue to be fairly busy with fittings even at this later stage of the year and of course we are always available for your regrip and repair needs.

Fitting Stories

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a big difference. This customer loved his older PING driver setup but wasn’t getting the carry he wanted anymore. Kael fit him into a new PING G440 Max driver with a slightly lighter and softer shaft and helped him keep the ball in the air longer! His previous driver also didn’t have an adjustable back weight so Kael was able to use the draw setting to help him with his ball flight as well.

Leading Edge Golf Fall Simulator League

We are currently planning the first season of our Fall Simulator League.  If you are interested in playing drop us an email at info@leadingedgegolf.ca to register for updates!

Ben Griffin has been on a great run lately but struggled early at the BMW Championship on Sunday.  Apparently it was because he accidentally drank too much creatine.

A small plane crash landed on a golf course in Australia and miraculously no one was injured.  No word yet on whether they repaired their pitch mark.

Thanks for reading, see you next week!
