Summer is great and all, but September sure makes the transition to fall a little easier with PGA Tour playoffs, the Ryder Cup, playoff races in MLB (let’s go Jays!), and the return of NFL and college football.  Playing golf until 9:30 PM is still better but this is a workable consolation.

The PGA Tour season opener is usually reserved for young, up and coming talent and journeymen trying to get their season started on the right step.  This year was a little different as almost all of the US Ryder Cup team was in the field as a tune up for the event in two weeks.  Obviously that meant Scottie Scheffler won, locking up his 6th victory of the calendar year.  At the LPGA Tour event it was an actually surprising finish as Jeeno Thitikul, who is both #1 in the world and statistically the best putter on tour this year, four-putted the 72nd hole to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and hand the City Queen Championship to Charley Hull.
