TaylorMade’s new Milled Grind Wedges are unique in that they use a CNC milling process to finish the soles whereas most other wedge soles are hand ground.  This precise milling process allows for more consistency from club to club and results in an interesting groove pattern on the sole.  We can also confirm from our testing that these wedges have an excellent feel at impact.

The MG Wedges are forged from 8620 carbon steel and utilize a new groove design that feature steeper sidewalls to increase launch and spin.  These narrower grooves also allow for one more to be added to the face.  The hosel is bored deeper than previous models which allows for 10 grams of weight to be moved from this area closer to the centre of the face.  A port is then filled with red polymer near the heel (see photos).

There are 3 bounce options in the MG line: Low Bounce (LB), Standard Bounce (SB), and High Bounce (HB).  The LB is a C- shaped sole with 9° of bounce, the SB offers more heel relief and comes in bounces of 9-12°, and the HB comes in bounces of 11-13° with a wider, cambered sole.  The MG’s have a satin chrome finish and come with True Temper Dynamic Golf Wedge shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Grips.  $189 per club.
