Ted & Dave’s March Newsletter
Well, that changed quickly. Winter held on for a long time here in Calgary and the cold weather and lack of chinooks really hampered our ability to conduct fittings at the beginning of the year. Combine that with slightly later launch dates on some products this year and things were pretty tame this January and February. That is, to put it mildly, no longer the case. The quick turn in the weather means we can now fit outdoors every day and our customers have clearly been excited to get their hands on new equipment as our appointment schedule has been quite full. This is a really fun time for us as we get to reacquaint ourselves with our customers that we don’t get to see as much over the winter as well as work with all of the products that have launched since last season.
The forecast is beautiful for the coming weeks, is it crazy to think we might be playing golf before the end of March?
Ted & Dave’s West Coast Swing
It was completely unplanned, but we ended up having our own version of the PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing. Our “IT guy” Dylan was at the Farmer’s Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego in late January while Kael attended the Waste Management Open in Phoenix the week after. To cap it off, Robert was invited to the Monteray Peninsula with one of our equipment partners and managed to play Pebble Beach the week following the AT&T National Pro Am. We were all glad to see some sunshine and play some golf while we were still in a deep freeze back home.
Alberta Golf Juniors
Back in February we hosted a group of competitive Junior players from Alberta Golf at our facility to learn the basics of club fitting and how it can work to improve their performance on the course. We helped them understand how to measure swing weight, chart loft and lie, and different ways of making up a set of clubs along with much more. We really enjoyed working with and educating these young players and hopefully we inspired them to think about the technical aspects of their equipment.
Reminder: We’ve Moved!
We are now fully settled in to our new facility. While still at the Golf Canada Calgary Centre, we are no longer located in the main clubhouse but rather in our own standalone building at the Northwest corner of the parking lot (to the left as you enter the parking lot, next to the Par 3 course). We have much more room to operate in the new space and we think our customers will appreciate it. Come drop by and tell us what you think!
Note: When you arrive for your fitting, please come check in at the new location and don’t go directly to the range.
