Leading Edge Golf Weekly Roundup – 2/12/2024

Thank you to everyone for the warm feedback and encouragement on our rebranding effort.  As we said in the release, we are very proud of our history but we feel it is a great opportunity for us to refresh our image and rededicate ourselves to our customers.  We aren’t done yet and we think you will like what we have in store.

One of those changes is to restart our newsletter and publish a bit more frequently.  Our new weekly newsletter will arrive in your inbox on Mondays and we will keep you up to date with happenings at the shop, take a tour around professional and local amateur golf from the weekend, share stories about golf and equipment we find interesting, and have some fun.  We hope you enjoy it as it comes together and we would love to hear from you about what you like, what you don’t, and what you’d like us to include in the future.  Please reach out to dylan@leadingedgegolf.ca with any feedback!

What a sports Sunday!  First, Nick Taylor overcame the field and the drunken fans to beat Charley Hoffman in a playoff to win the WMPO.  While not quite as dramatic as his Canadian Open win last summer, he knocked down a 12 footer to win and gave us another memorable celebration.  Then of course, there was the Superbowl (which featured another Taylor) which also featured an electric finish in overtime.  Anyone else a little tired this morning?

And would you look at that, we’re almost halfway through February.  Golf season is so, so close.

We saw a 57 posted for the first time ever in a PGA sanctioned event this week when Cristobal Del Solar shot 13 under at the Korn Ferry Tour event in Colombia.

GolfWRX had the scoop on some custom Scotty Camerons at the WMPO this week.  First, we saw Zac Blair’s beautiful Circa 62 #1 replica which was followed up by Michael Phelps’ Gold putter which was apparently a gift from Cameron who demanded Phelps put it in play.
